Who We Are

Established in March 1999, Fellowship of Christian Councils and Churches in the Great Lakes and Horn of Africa (FECCLAHA) is a regional Christian organization consisting of National Councils of Churches and Churches in the Great Lakes region and the Horn of Africa. It was registered in Kenya February 2001 with its mandate being to promote strong Christian cooperation among its members to take ownership and responsibility for challenges affecting Peace and Social Cohesion in the region and facilitating them to proactively seek solutions to the same.

Core Values

Ecumenism: The promotion of cooperation and unity among Christians (John 17:20)
Human Dignity: We believe that all people hold a special value that is tied solely to their humanity irrespective of the class, race, gender, religion, abilities, or any other factor other than them being human. (Gen. 1:26 & John 10:10)
Integrity: In all our operations, we will ensure total honesty and sincerity (Proverbs 11:3)
Justice: We will endeavor to be just, impartial and fair. (Isaiah 1:16-18)
Peace: We are driven by the desire to see everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom. (Matthew 5:5-8)

Mission

We foster Christian fellowship in the Great Lakes region and Horn of Africa that promotes justice, sustainable peace, stability, and development through capacity building, advocacy, and research.
