The Greater Eastern Africa region has witnessed increased exploration and discovery of oil and gas resources. Most of the countries in the region lack pro-people policies and laws to govern the extractive industries.
The protection of delicate ecosystems and the environment is also not assured in the rush to benefit from new-found resources. In order to design and undertake high level advocacy on natural resource governance and management, FECCLAHA will facilitate a regional consultation that will examine the obtaining situation in the region and discuss various strategies to be used in the ecumenical advocacy for effective natural resource governance and management.
